Celebrating Our Success: Warfield Park Highly Commended at South East Energy Efficiency Awards

We are thrilled to share some exciting news! We have been Highly Commended in the Regional Housing Association/Landlord of the Year category at the respected South East Energy Efficiency Awards. The awards ceremony, held earlier this month at the Sofitel London Gatwick Hotel, brought together leaders from across the region’s housing and sustainability sector.

This commendation holds a special significance as it marks the fourth time we have been recognised for our commitment to providing sustainable and high-quality rental properties for our tenants. Our previous success in the same category back in 2021 set the foundation for our continued dedication to energy efficiency and green living.

At Warfield Park, we believe in leading by example when it comes to sustainable practices. Over the past year, we have invested significantly in upgrading our rental properties to be more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. Among the notable enhancements, we have installed underfloor heating to a further 19 of our 78 rental homes, ensuring maximum comfort for our tenants while reducing energy usage.

Additionally, in our efforts to support the uptake of electric vehicles, we have installed 15 electric vehicle (EV) charging points last year, with 18 more this year. Furthermore, we are excited to share that our dedicated rental area, Harvest Lea, will see the installation of more EV chargers by 2024. We firmly believe that by facilitating the adoption of electric vehicles, we can contribute to reducing our carbon footprint and creating a greener future for all.

The impact of these environmentally conscious investments has been truly astonishing.  With these measures combined our tenants now save an estimated £500 per year in energy costs and prevented a staggering 920 tonnes of CO2 emissions from entering the atmosphere.  Making their lives more affordable and sustainable.

We owe much of this success to our team, and one person deserves a special mention. Jenny Holder, our lettings manager (Pictured above right) has been instrumental in identifying and implementing various energy efficiency improvements, over several years across our rental properties. Her dedication has been pivotal in making Warfield Park an eco-friendly haven for our tenants.

Beyond our recent commendation, Warfield Park has previously been honoured with several prestigious awards for our sustainable initiatives. Notably, we received the boiler and heating project of the year award at the National Energy Efficiency Awards in 2019 and the social responsibility company of the year award at the National Energy Efficiency & Healthy Homes Awards in 2017.

With all this behind us, we are even more motivated to continue to provide sustainable living solutions for our community. With 90 acres of parkland and a range of housing options, Warfield Park stands as one of the largest parks of its kind in the UK, with over 500 park homes, including 78 available for rent. The demand for homes in our park remains consistently high, and we are humbled by the long waiting lists for both purchasing and renting our park homes.

We are immensely proud of our journey towards creating a greener and more sustainable living environment. Our commitment to energy efficiency not only reduces our environmental impact but also makes a tangible difference in the lives of our tenants. As we look to the future, we are committed to raising the bar even higher and inspiring others to strive for a more sustainable tomorrow.
