31 Jan 🌳🌿 Growing Green: Warfield Park’s SANG Expansion Enhances Nature and Community 🌳🌿
We’re excited to share an update on the ongoing development of the Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace (SANG) at Warfield Park, Berkshire. As part of our commitment to protecting the Thames Basin Heaths Special Protection Area, we are creating a SANG as part of our Paddocks development, set to launch in spring 2025. 🌱
This phase will focus on enhancing the natural environment, with 115 new trees 🌳 and over 3000 shrubs 🌿 set to be planted. The SANG will span 26 acres, offering residents and wildlife alike a peaceful, eco-friendly space to enjoy. The development is designed with nature at its heart, incorporating new habitats 🦌, circular walks 🚶♀️, and carefully planned landscape features to provide a truly sustainable green space. 🌍💚
A SANG exists to alleviate the recreational pressure on the Thames Basin Heaths Special Protection Area. By providing an attractive and accessible recreational space for people to enjoy, SANGs help to protect the sensitive habitats and species within the Thames Basin Heaths. 🌳🦉
The expansion of the SANG will ensure that the local community has access to even more open space, perfect for relaxation, exercise 🏃♂️, and connecting with nature. We are proud of the progress we’ve made and can’t wait for you to see the transformation! ✨
