Warfield Park staff member recognised

Here at Warfield Park we have a fantastic team of people who work hard to make sure that we maintain our status as one of the most desirable park home addresses in the UK. We know that many of our residents have good relationships with our team at HQ and so we love to share their achievements and news stories.

With that in mind, we are delighted to celebrate the success of one of our staff members at the 2020 Heat Hero Awards, which were presented last week at the House of Commons.

Well Done Wendy

Wendy Collas, our executive assistant, was ‘Highly Commended’ at the awards which recognised the support she provided to residents on the site, during our recent major natural gas conversion project.

The Heat Hero Awards recognises individuals who have made a significant contribution to helping people living in fuel poverty in their local community. It was attended by Peter Aldus MP and representatives from the four main gas networks. Wendy received her award from Jeremy Nesbitt, managing director of Affordable Warmth Solutions.

As residents will remember, Wendy supported the £1.6 million project to allow residents access to the natural gas market.

What you might not know is that Wendy worked above and beyond to coordinate with residents, ensuring access for hospital appointments, deliveries, post and refuse collection, while the extensive installation works were undertaken.

During the project she was coordinating between T&K Gallagher, Happy Energy and the residents of the park.  More than 200 boilers were converted and 260 new boilers were installed as part of the project and we even had new hobs fitted in 196 park homes along with 234 new appliances and 71 new ovens.

Hazel Hill (pictured), sustainable energy officer at Bracknell Forest Council, said: “Making special arrangements for some specific needs demonstrates a clear understanding that households’ needs are firmly at the centre of any project at Warfield Park”.

Wendy commented: “I am really proud to have received this award and am delighted and honoured that my work has been recognised.  It was fantastic to celebrate at the House of Commons.”

Warfield Park’s managing director, Barry Sumer, said: “We are very proud of the extra care and attention that Wendy put in to help support the residents of Warfield Park, especially those who are vulnerable.”

So we would like to extend our congratulations and gratitude to Wendy, we are all very proud of the excellent work that went into this, now multi-award winning, project.
