Work starts on 63-home Warfield Park extension: The Paddocks

Construction of an extension to one of the UK’s largest park home sites was marked today (22 March) by the deputy mayor of Bracknell Forest, Councillor Jenny Penfold, when she ‘turned’ the first ground with a spade.

The Paddocks is a 10-acre 63-home development to the east of Warfield Park. Phase 1 will be completed in the coming months with the first homes available for occupation from this summer.

The project also includes the creation of a 26-acre green space for public use.

Cllr Jenny Penfold said: “This project will help provide much needed housing for Bracknell not just for older people but for younger generations and families as well. Warfield Park is such a beautiful environment and there is a huge sense of community here – something other developers should take note of.”

James Sumner, executive director of Warfield Park, commented that he is delighted to see the deputy mayor supporting our project: “Park homes are an increasingly popular option, especially for older generations, but also across the board. Competition for these new park homes is likely to be high as there is strong demand in Bracknell.

“To enhance the park, we have included a significant open space, almost three times the size of the new development. This will include pathways, habitat enhancement for birds, insects and small animals, ornamental and scrubland planting as well as wetland habitat improvements.”

Set in 90 acres of parkland, Warfield Park is one of the largest parks of its kind in the UK with over 530 park homes. Of these, over 470 are privately owned and more than 67 rented. In total, there are 92,000 existing park homes in around 2,000 licensed sites across the country.
